Allen & Heath SQ-5
Experimental MixPad fixture workflow with partial scene-field decoding and guarded template output for offline validation only.

Compatibility test review neededExisting values are preserved until you explicitly remove them. Review these items before exporting.
Experimental SQ testUse SQ MixPad offline for validation. Stereo links must be set manually; only fixture-verified bus, send, SLink output and FX fields are written.
SCENE###.DAT into the intended SHOWS/SHOW#### folder.SHOW.DAT or NVDATA.DAT.Experimental WING testWING stereo channels follow the assigned Source mode, not a channel-link switch. Every generated snapshot must still be recalled and re-saved before live use.

Give the production team the context they need before the channel list begins.
These details appear at the top of the exported rider.

WHO PLUGS IN WHERE
Names and practical stage interpretation for every source.

SIGNAL ORIGIN, POWER & ROUTING
Confirm desk routing, soft patches, source sockets, phantom power and Main L/R assignment.
X32 User In / soft patching is a two-stage route. The Source column shows the bank or User In slot feeding each channel. When a bank uses User In, source device and socket show its physical input; verified Local and AES50 edits are written back to the User In table on export.
Choose one source family and one complete bank of eight for each channel group. Source banks may be reused by multiple channel groups.
WING source projection Channel strips point at WING Sources; stereo Source-pair mode is set with the source patch, then displayed in the input list.
Projected source domains, sockets, stereo Source-pair state and manual checks.
| Ch | Name | Source | Socket | Stereo | Projection |
|---|
SQ Local/SLink projection SQ scenes store per-channel Local/SLink source records, while stereo links remain a manual show/global setup.
Verified SQ-5/MixPad profile fields, preserved native state and manual-check items.
| Ch | Name | SQ source | 48V | Editable | Manual check |

Confirm phantom power at the stage. Imported values are a starting reference, never a substitute for checking connected equipment.

MIXES FOR STAGE & RECORD
Define bus purpose, stereo pairs and physical destinations.
| Bus | Name | Colour | Role | Stereo | Paired bus | Output assignment | Notes |
|---|
No channel-to-bus sends recorded.
GUARDED CONSOLE LEVEL EDITING
Edit input faders, physical preamp gain and channel-to-bus sends for X32/M32 and XR18/X Air scenes.
Level and gain changes can cause sudden, dangerously loud sound. Any advanced edit activates protected export: input channels, mix-bus masters, matrices and Main L/R are exported muted. Their master fader levels cannot be edited here and remain unchanged.
No advanced level edits in this rider.
Only numbered input-channel faders and mapped physical preamps are editable.

Choose one destination bus, then adjust its channel sends.

WHERE SIGNALS LEAVE
Document physical sockets, source assignments and matrix feeds.
P16 / Ultranet is available only for X32/M32 and XR18/X Air targets. WING targets use WING output/source groups.

Record rack slots, feed buses and known returns.

CONSOLE MAP
Imported routing blocks are shown without guessing at unfamiliar values.
BEFORE SHOW DAY
Keep uncertainties explicit and turn them into a practical advance list.
The rider will always show unknown or unconfirmed routing instead of filling gaps with assumptions.
READ-ONLY ENGINE STATUS
Research and experimental desk work is documented here without enabling hidden import or export features in Live Edition.
Experimental MixPad fixture workflow with partial scene-field decoding and guarded template output for offline validation only.
JSON snapshot import/export research is available in Developer Edition. Stereo behaviour depends on WING Source mode and still requires WING Edit round-trip validation.
Format analysis and fixture collection only. No native import/export support is exposed through the Live Edition.
Research-only capture profile. No user-facing native file parser or writer is claimed.
Desk template choice
Choose how the selected desk template should affect the rider currently open in Rider Workspace.
